Adaptive Equipment
Adaptive equipment is any type of equipment used to facilitate increased skill or independence with daily activities. An Occupational Therapist can assess a child’s need for adaptive equipment and make recommendations to the parent on its use as well as resources to obtain the appropriate device for your child. Once you have the correct equipment our Occupational Therapist will work with you and you child as to its proper use. Examples of adaptive equipment include specialized feeding utensils/tools, dressing equipment or alternative clothing options, bathroom equipment such as toileting chairs and bath chairs or grab bars and high chairs.
