Pediatric Neuropsychology
Provided by Life Span Neuropsychology Services
A pediatric clinical Neuropsychologist is specially trained in the areas of cognitive language and behavioral functioning. Through consultation and testing, the Neuropsychologist identifies a child's specific strengths and weaknesses and makes recommendations that will facilitate the child's learning capacity and behavioral adjustment in academic and social settings.
Evaluation Services
Neuropsychology evaluations are completed within two to five hours. Evaluations are tailored to the individual needs of each child and usually include:
- Review of the child's medical, developmental, educational and psychosocial history
- Clinical interview with the patient and/or the family
- If necessary, formal evaluation of specific areas of cognitive, behavioral and affective functioning
- Analysis and integration of clinical findings
- Report prepared by the Neuropsychologist with recommendations for treatment and/or management
When the evaluation is completed, results are shared with the patient, family and professionals involved in the child's care.
