Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program
Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital's Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program provides individuals who have chronic lung disease with the comprehensive medical care and therapeutic services they need to reach their maximum level of independence.
Goals
The goals of this multidisciplinary therapy program include:
- improving functional abilities
- increasing independence
- improving quality of life
Program Components
Each member of the program's treatment team possesses expertise in the unique issues and challenges faced by patients with limited lung capacity and pulmonary function.
The program includes:
- Comprehensive Medical Management by physician specialists (i.e., internal medicine, pulmonology, physiatry)
- Occupational and Physical Therapy to teach conservation techniques
- Patient/Family Education to increase knowledge of the disease process and its management
- Individual and Group Therapeutic Exercise
- Discharge Planning/Case Management
- Family Conference (as needed)
- Comprehensive Outpatient Services
