Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC)
at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital
Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital (BRH) is committed to the development of a Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC). The formation of a Patient and Family Advisory Council is in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations 105CMR.130.1800.
The purpose of a Patient and Family Advisory Council is to provide a forum that enables patients and family members to have direct input into the development of policies, programs and practices at BRH.
The PFAC at BRH will consist of a total of 8-10 members comprised of 6-8 former patients and/or family members and must be representative of the community at large.
1-2 persons from BRH staff will also serve on the Council. The PFAC will review and advise BRH on matters brought before the Council and may include issues related to education, quality, safety or other programs, policies, procedures or concerns. The PFAC will have direct communication with Senior Leadership at BRH.
BRH has developed a work plan to ensure that the timetable for implementation of the PFAC is on track to begin meeting in 2010.
