Postural Retraining

Postural retraining involves utilizing strengthening and often stretching techniques that will enable your child to attain and maintain an efficient posture against gravity. Strength of the core muscles (i.e. abdominals and back muscles) play an important role in allowing us to stand efficiently. This means being able to stand in line without getting overly tired. An "efficient" posture is different for each child. Skilled therapists are able to recognize specific areas of weakness and tailor a therapeutic program to address your child's individual needs.
