Respiratory Care
Education and training about lung dysfunction and airway clearance are critically important in the management of children with breathing difficulties. Preventative education of family members may decrease recovery times from illness and decrease the need for medication.
Treatment is designed for children with the diagnosis of asthma, status post pneumonia, or any child with inadequate cough/lung clearance due to hypotonia or neuromuscular condition. (It is not designed for children who are on oxygen or who have a permanent tracheostomy in place).
Our highly skilled Pediatric Physical Therapists will instruct parents in a variety of techniques/topics dependent on the child's particular needs. The family will also be provided with illustrated home exercise programs.
